Description
1/4 oz American Gold Eagle Coin (Random Year)
The United States Mint introduced the American Gold Eagle Series in 1986. When these gold bullion coins were first issued, it marked a return of mass production for American gold coins after a half–century hiatus following the 1933 end of the gold standard in the US. Gold Eagles showcase a beautiful depiction of Lady Liberty on the obverse and the American bald eagle on the reverse. Right now, 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle Coins are available from random years for purchase online.
Coin Highlights:
- Ships in protective plastic flips and tubes of 40!

1/4 oz. Gold American Eagle coins are one of four different commonly traded sizes of Gold Eagles produced by the US Mint. These gold coins are shipped in protective sleeves and are one of the most recognizable coins in the entire gold bullion industry. The premium over spot is relatively low with quarter ounces, and is only a small amount larger than its 1/2 and 1 oz. counterparts.
In the obverse design of the American Gold Eagle, Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ iconic image of Lady Liberty stands tall. This 1907 design showcases the full-length figure of Liberty in front-facing relief with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The field includes a ring of stars, sun rays in the background, and the U.S. Capitol Building.
For the reverse of 1/4 oz Gold Eagle Coins, two different designs are available. From 1986 to mid-2021, Miley Busiek’s depiction of a family of bald eagles graced the reverse of the coins. Since mid-2021, Jennie Norris’ image of the head of the bald eagle in left-profile relief has featured on the reverse of the coins.
Quarter ounce Gold Eagles are a common choice among investors and collectors alike. While they offer a significant amount of pure gold and are commonly classified as bullion, their standing as a product of the US Mint is what makes them appealing to collectors. Like all US Mint products, a Gold Eagle assures you have the highest quality gold available on the market.
