This Royal Mint box-set features a single gold 2016 Proof Sovereign coin with the Butler Effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.
This coin weighs the same as a regular (or bullion) Sovereign, at 7.98grams and 22-carat gold (91.67% fineness). This proof has been struck using specially selected blanks and highly polished dies. During striking, the coinage dies exert enormous pressure on the coin blank, with at least two separate blows (or strikes), ensuring that the impression has extra clarity.
